It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

Soccer Saturday

It was our second official game
of the season for Nan and first for Moo-Moo.

There are not enough red jerseys so Moo-Moo's coach (his uncle!) has him wear a Fire Jersey instead.

I like this picture not just because Moo-Moo is touching the ball (that doesn't happen that often) but because the ref is smiling. Michael started the Kindergarten (and this year preschool) soccer in our community. So far, it has been a FUN thing for everyone involved. I hope as the program grows it stays that way.
Nan is Assistant Coach for the team this year. She is eating up the attention and loves having a place to boss people around. Although it is a great opportunity for Nan, she only has it because NO parents volunteered. I am embarrassed for them that an 8-year old is on the field while they sit in lawn chairs. :(

Notice that in this picture Michael is giving directions to the team....and his mouth is closed. He is a man of few words.
We immediately left that game and drove 1/2 hour to Nan's game. I didn't take any pictures of her her game because we wore silver and it was confusing (the other team wore purple). Karen, Moo-Moo, Jo and Susie on the sidelines.

Ella being serenaded by Moo-Moo during the game.

Nan her her twin and teammate, Delaney. (Later that evening they celebrated Delaney's birthday by having a slumber party in a camper on her Grandparents' farm. I can only imagine!)
