It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

Family Fun Goal: Visit a Zoo

My wonderful Mother-in-Law was celebrating a birthday that week so we made a birthday dinner into a birthday weekend....

In addition to the zoo we took our first visit to "The Loop", made a late night Krispy Kreme run in a our PJ's, checked over another family fun goal, swam outdoors in November, and visited the American Girl store. This was an unexpected quick trip and yet we got a whole lot done in a short amount of time with minimal whining or meltdowns. Success!

Jo had lots to say about the zoo. Too bad we don't understand 1/2 of what she says.

Pretty girl!

Jo wasn't sure about this....but then went on it 3 times in a row.

About 1 minute later Nan and I get totally splashed by some penguin poop water.

  1. We love zoos! We love this zoo, we love the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago, we are members at Scovill Zoo. We try to hit a zoo when we go on vacation...went to the Houston Zoo when we were there in May. Zoos rock! And I love those naughty penguins!

    1. My parents were so good about taking us to the zoo whenever we visited a city with one. I hope we are passing that along to our children.

I grew up with a membership to Brookfield Zoo! I am so glad that my parents did that too!
