It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

Day 17 and Family Fun Goal: Attend a Fair

Day 17

Family Fun Goal: Attend a Fair

Today we went through all of her stuff. This was in the backpack she brought with her. It was a few items she had been given over Christmas break and a few barf bags...she shared that she had thrown up quite a bit on the trip over.

She has been practicing her numbers in English. I promise I took down all the other Spanish labels except from our calendar. :)

This would be the scene before we leave the house: two girls in the bathroom doing hair. Nastya is really gifted in braiding!

When Michael got home from work we immediately made the drive over to the Martinsville Agricultural Fair. They do a really nice job of putting on a family friend and affordable event. You get a wristband as part of your admission cost. Then you can ride any ride as much as you want. Admission costs only $6!

Nan, Nastya, Papa Joe, and Nana Barb because when we went with Jo she wouldn't let us spin it.

Neat thing about the wrist bands is that is allows parents and grandparents to ride with the kids!

I can't wait to take these two to Holiday World next week!

Jo wanted pink ice cream...we found some homemade cherry ice cream that was amazing!

Nan's footlong corndog!

Nastya wanted a hot dog. I made her order it herself. She counted out the money and everything. The man never even knew she hardly speaks English!

Jo didn't mind too much that she was too little to ride most of the rides...she had all of her grandparent's attention instead!

We spent about 4 hours here!

Final ride even after we said no more rides. The line was finally short enough for Papa Joe & Nan vs Nastya and I.

Homemade ice cream bars...well, we might as well.
