It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

Day 20

Day 20

It is obvious that we are settling into a regular routine because I didn't take pictures again today.  Late in the week there will be plenty of pictures opportunities so I will more than make up for it! (I even purchased a waterproof camera for one of the family fun goals we are going to accomplish Thursday!)

The other night,  we gifted Nastya with her Bible. (A quality foreign language chidren's Bible is an expensive and difficult to find gift. Thank you, Powers Family!) It is written in her native language. After Michael read to the girls as usual, we asked her to read to us.

She read to us for about 15 minutes. Nan was fidgety after the first two. It was the perfect opportunity for us to really empathize with Nastya. It isn't easy to listen to someone talk and talk when you don't understand a word they are saying.

Michael and I sat watching her the entire time. SHE LOVED THAT! It was great to give her time to shine and share with us. I think she loved hearing herself talk too.
