Unlike when her big sister had her ears pierced around the same age, both ears were done at the very same time.
Look at her poor face. This is as close to crying as she came. (Just when they were putting the backs on the earrings.)
This is a blurry picture but I wanted to show you how she never did cry. Immediately she turned around smiling for me to admire her ears.
Done and no tears!
JoJo had hear ears pierced while Nastya was still here. It was just one of those events that got pushed aside in blog-world during hosting. We made a last minute trip to Claire's because someone had broken Nastya's sunglasses and we were replacing them before she left. (That someone is pictured several times in this post!)
Jo said, "I want my ears pierced." We totally didn't believe her and told her we would come back after we finished shopping.
She reminded us as we were getting ready to leave the mall that she needed to go back and get her ears pierced. So we did.
Meme was with us and had already said that she did not want to be there when Jo got her ears pierced....Nan's ear piercing is a mini drama! Poor Meme! But Jo made it fun for us all!
Auntie Jill had surprised the big girls with Hello Kitty earrings. (Jo didn't go without, she received a Hello Kitty stuffed animal that has already been very well loved!) Jo wanted earrings just like them! I think this is what ultimately led to the timing of the ear piercing. Meme made sure that Jo has a pair of Hello Kitty earrings to wear as she can take these ones out. Now Jo can be like the big girls!
We had it done at the local Claire's by a very sweet lady. She had gotten to know us a bit over the summer because we had been there so often. Nastya loved that store! She had received a gift card for her birthday and after that every dollar she had, she wanted to spend it at Claire's. (Which works out perfect because it is an outlet and they have several dollar racks. Plus, one of the hosting rules is that you can't take back any US money. I was glad she wanted to spend it all and not fight over taking it back to her country.)
Afterwards, we hurried to Michael's work to show him. (Okay, to see if he would notice! He did!)

Thanks to our photographer, Nan, who took about 100 pictures of the whole thing. :)
