It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

Building Bridges
Truth is that Nan is terrible at building bridges. Even with all the information, her brain has not been able to "get it". I think that she will eventually "get it" to some extent but thankfully, she will probably never be an engineer. (Don't we want our engineers to totally completely "get it"!?!) Her bridge is not going to win the competition. In fact, at the rate she is going, she may not even have a bridge.

This week I have to let it go (Are you now singing that Frozen song???). Nan is going to completely fail at a project and be upset. I need to let it go. I need to not try and fix it. I need to let her experience this failure. I need to just help her process this failure. I need to be thankful that she gets to experience failure in a controlled and safe environment on something with zero serious consequences.

Man this is hard!

  1. How did it go? Everyone get through it?!

  2. You're doing exactly what our generation of parents is being faulted for NOT doing... you go, girl! And... how did it all turn out?
