It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

Winter Hosting Day 5

Remember how Day 4 ended in a hotel room? Day 5 began 4am. We hung out there as long as they let us and we still had 11 hours to kill before N2 and Michael landed in St. Louis. We made the most of it!

It was a mild day so we spent the afternoon at the zoo. It was so, so, so much fun to take N1 to the zoo. She ran from animal to animal excitidly trying to remember the English word for each one.  I love how she can throw herself into new experiences and really enjoy them.  Nan pointed out how she was concerned that N1 was going to be like Di*na, our first host daughter. Di*na was just too cool and didn't seem to enjoy anything.

After that we headed to the mall. Marble Slab Ice Cream for supper. Probably wasn't the best choice because she sort of freezes in situatation like this (pun intended!) But we worked it out and it was a good place to practice these skills because it was not crowded in December.

Watched a movie before heading the airport. We sat in the cell lot while N1 slept, Nan watched a movie, and JoJo got all crazy.

My 4 girls all together!!!!

This picture is around 2:30 am when we got home. N2 is meeting our dog, Felicity, for the first time. She pointed out some of the changes to our house before she quickly fell asleep.
