It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

Winter Hosting Day 18

Road Trip to Michigan
Day 2

We all attended church with the Doran Family.

Tara helped lead worship. Isn't it so cool that the girls get to see her do this?

I just love this family!

It was neat to see the girls be familiar someplace and recognize people (and be recognized!!!)

After church we headed out to play in the new snow!

N1 went so far! All the way to the creek in the tree line!

We went back to the house to celebrate this girls 8th Birthday! (8?!?!?!)

For LanaAnne's Birthday we went to CrazyJump place...it was fun for all the kids ages 4 - 15!!!!

N1 is VERY competitive, which is something her Dad is looking forward to seeing on the soccer field. Unfortunately, we are going to have to work on sportsmanship....there may have been a biting incident. Ugh! You know how I shared about a tantrum earlier? Yes, when you welcome an older child into your home, it is very common to have to go through developmental milestones again....so sometimes it is like dealing with an infant (yes, wrapping them up in a blanket and rocking them), a toddler (biting!), a preschooler (constantly asking, "Why?" and getting into everything), and so on! The reason that I share this story is not to embarrass her, actually, I look forward to teasing her about it one day. :)  But rather to ask you guys to be patient with us and the kids.  Life is going to look different for us for a while...possibly forever. We want you to know that this is no surprise to us; we are expecting it because this is what welcoming older children into your family involves.

N2 is not as competitive and honestly, is much more ornery!

Taking us to their favorite pizza place. Yeah, I wonder what they thought when they saw this group waiting for a table!

The funny thing is that the two oldest ones were the ones to make a mess and be loud!

Finished the night racing cars using iPods!
