It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

 Throw Back Thursday

Badwater Basin 282 feet below sea level in Death Valley (November 2014)

Did I ever share about the time the girls and I took a month-long road trip? (You can do these things when you homeschool, so you have some flexibility.)

How we actually saw many of the things we had been pointing out on maps and learning about in books? It was one of the coolest things I have ever done...and I had secretly hoped to make it an annual thing.

Now we know that the adoption won't be complete until sometime in September, so it isn't going to happen this year. I'm feeling disappointed but am so thankful for the time we did have time together removed from our comfort zones and electronics.

I guess that is more time for N1 to get over her carsickness and us to make travel plans!

  1. Next time Joshua guys will love it! Can't wait to hear N2 saying "Wow!"

  2. Great idea--go somewhere warm during the winter!!! That will give you a little time to recuperate. :)
