It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start. -Mother Teresa

YES, We Homeschool Them.

It isn't just "play" that my kids missed.

I just sat and read of stack of picture books to my 16-year-old. Reading aloud is just part of the way we learned to read; she missed that part.

Tomorrow I am taking my teenagers on a field trip to the fire station. It is pretty much the same field trip that JoJo took Monday with her preschool class.

We count coins. We do flashcards. We use manipulatives.

They missed lots of things so we have lots of ground to cover.

They have to do all these things while learning a new language.

Please be understanding as we try to go back and cover these fundamentals.

(It feels weird to me too but I know it needs to happen.)

PS: Please, please for the love of bacon, stop asking if I am going to homeschool them. WE ARE HOMESCHOOLING THEM...at least for now. Part of it is purely selfish, I missed most of their lives and I don't want to send them away for most of their waking hours. I waited so long for them to be home, I want to be with them!
