Happy International Women's Day!
This was our first year to celebrate and we were excited for a fun "holiday" in which the majority of our household was spoiled by the minority. This day was special for another reason too: our girls were comfortable enough to share their expectations for the day! It was the blending of two cultures and an example of how our life is richer through adoption!
For breakfast Michael had muffins and strawberries. He gave each of us a bouquet of flowers remembering that Ukrainians only give odd numbers of flowers (even numbers are for funerals). At lunch he presented each of us with a homemade card and our favorite candy bar (in my case not a candy bar but a package of Starbursts). We had special ice cream for dessert. It was a good day!
